Privacy statement

MakelAI writes property descriptions. To do that we process some of your data. This page sets out exactly what, why, for how long and who we share it with. In plain language, because a privacy statement nobody reads is worth nothing.

Who is responsible
MakelAI, established at NOG INVULLEN and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number NOG INVULLEN, is responsible for the processing described on this page.

What data we process
We deliberately keep it small. This is all of it:

| The photos you upload | To recognise the property and write a description of it. |

| The property texts you create | So you can find them again and edit them. |
| Your payment details | To handle your subscription. These go straight to our payment provider; we never see your full card details. |
| Technical data such as your IP address and browser | To make the service work, prevent abuse and trace faults. |
The legal grounds
The GDPR asks for a ground per processing activity. Ours are:
- Performance of the contract. Your account, your photos, your texts and your payment. Without this data we cannot deliver the service.
- Legitimate interest. Security, preventing abuse and resolving faults.
- Consent. Analytics cookies and the newsletter. We only switch those on if you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time.
- Legal obligation. We must keep our accounts for seven years for the Dutch tax authority.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for other people's advertising. To run the service we do work with a number of parties. Here they all are:

What happens to your input at the AI
Your features and your own additions are sent to OpenAI so the text can be written. OpenAI does not use data received through the business interface to train its models.
So do not put special categories of personal data in there. Think of a seller's health, a divorce or a financial situation. A good property description does not need any of that.
How long we keep things

Your rights
You can always ask us for:
- Access to the data we hold about you.
- Correction if something is wrong.
- Deletion of your data and your account.
- A copy of your data in a usable file.
- Restriction of, or objection to, a processing activity.
- Withdrawal of your consent, for example for analytics cookies.
Email info@makelai.nl and you will hear from us within a month. Usually a good deal sooner.
If we cannot resolve it together, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
How we secure your data
- All traffic between you and us is encrypted over HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored encrypted and are not readable by us.
- Access to the database is limited to the people who genuinely need it.
- We take regular backups.

If anything changes in how we handle your data, we update this page and change the date at the top. For a significant change you will get an email.
